Can we really see our babies again one day?

The Bible tells us that King David knew he would be reunited with his sweet baby boy one day. We know this because he said, “I will go to him, but he will not return to me” (2 Samuel 12:23). David knew where his child was – in heaven – and he knew that when he entered through heaven’s gates, his son would be waiting for him.

But how can we be assured of that? How can we be assured that we will be reunited? There is hope, and that hope is found in God’s word, the Bible.

Our problem is sin. The Bible tells us that we all have disobeyed God. The Bible calls this sin. Examples of sin are lying, stealing, having an unforgiving heart, etc. The result of our sin is separation from God.

God’s solution is Jesus Christ. There is nothing we can do to fix our relationship with God. There is no amount of “good” that we can do to undo our sin. But God loved us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, who was perfect and without sin, to take the punishment for our sins. Jesus took our punishment when He died on the cross. But not only did He die for our sins, but three days after He was buried, He rose from the dead!

THE BIBLE SAYS,

“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”

(John 3:16, NIV)

By believing (trusting) in Jesus as our Savior, our sins are forgiven by God. They are washed away. We are reunited once again with Him.

To receive God’s wonderful gift of spending eternity with Him, all that is required of you is simple faith in Jesus– that is, believing that Jesus is God and that He died for your sins, that He was buried and rose from the dead, and believing that God will do what He promised and give you eternal life through your faith in Jesus Christ.

If you have this simple faith in Jesus, you will live with Him forever in heaven. Simple faith. There are no additional requirements to receive God’s gift of eternal life. And once you have done that, one day, as you enter through heaven’s gates, your precious little one will be there waiting for you.

If you have trusted in Jesus as your Savior, you can thank God for His gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ.

Dear God, I know I have sinned, and my sins have separated me from You. But I believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins, was buried, and that He rose from the dead. I trust in Jesus alone as my Savior. I thank You for the gift of eternal life, never to be separated from You again, and the gift of forgiveness of my sins through Jesus Christ. In Jesus’ name I pray. Amen.
